Brisbane International Film Festival

UX/UI Design
The Challenge
Brisbane International Film Festival (BIFF) was working with a slim budget following the tender being won by a new vender. They were not supplied with an existing website so all content and layout was created from scratch. This website needed to be bold, impactful and user friendly to drive ticket sales.
Approach
I started by creating low fidelity wireframes of the website, ensuring that we could make this easily updatable for the following year. Because we were working with a low budget, we wanted to make this build as simple but impactful as possible. We wanted to showcase the imagery and video of the entries as much as possible. To add more visual interest I created the code for a motion gradient effect (with a little help from Codepen). This was a great way to make the website feel higher budget while keeping the output time low.

This was an opportunity to ensure the right ticketing option. It needed to allow the user to explore the different genres on offer while drive ticket sales We used an extensive filtering options and bold call to actions to tackle this, couple with a bold and easy to use mega menu to enhance navigation.
