Black Pepper Brands

Branding
Project Overview
This is the corporate brand and identity I designed for Black Pepper Brands, a subsidiary of the PAS Group. The brief called upon the use of the existing visual call-out to the warp and weft of fabric, the way the fibres intertwine. It was also important to allude to the numerous fashion brands that Black Pepper Brands has under its umbrella; the intertwining lines were a nice way to tie these two notes together.
My Contributions
As this was an internal project this was solely my brain child, working with the upper management team to create a brand that suitable for internal usage.
This was an interesting project as it required that I carefully navigate the upper management's expectations about what the brand should be. This company had a history that spanned over decades and with that came some very ingrained practices and expectations. There was quite a bit of back and forth and a lot of conceptualising before landing on this fairly simple solution to the brief. As this was a corporate brand, the look and feel had to be very professional and clean which I think we were able to execute very effectively. It was also designed specifically for print and internal communications so it would have been overkill to develop the brand further.

I was happy with the outcome of this project, particularly where I was able to show excellent stakeholder management.
